The Mike Espat Bridge used to be called the Joe Taylor Bridge, and it is now the 4th version of that bridge. The current structure is a 25m triple span bridge with two traffic lanes as well as 2 pedestrian walkways.^[1]

The bridge commenced construction in October 2023^[2] and was opened on June 13, 2025.^[3]
