The Remate Bypass was reconstructed as part of the Philip Goldson Highway and Remate Bypass Upgrading Project Lot 3 from June 2021 to August 2023.^[1][2]

In the 2013 Ministry of Works file this highway is split into 2 different roads, the Chan Chen - San Pedro Road and the Remate - Chan Chen Road. These roads were merged together to form the Remate Bypass in 2021.

Lot 3 comprises the construction of the entire Remate Road Bypass.

One Variation Order was granted under Lot 3 contract to formalize the increase in the final contract price due to price increase of materials, as well as for the execution of new works activities such as additional bus laybys and pedestrian ramps, additional guard rails and access to private properties. VO#1 was for a total amount of BZD 1,607,568.68 and bringing the new contract sum for Lot 3 to BZD $23,539,347.38.^[3]
