Route 35 West was one of the first streets in Spanish Lookout. Sometime in the 1990s or early 2000s two major kinks in the road were straightened, the kink around the creek at the Rosenhof Church and at Waterway 150 . In the early 2000s the street was paved with chipseal up to the corner of Road 276. In 2010 the road was paved 500f ft past Waterway 150. And then in December 2025 it was paved up to the Settlement 295 / Settlement 88 border.
