This street was constructed sometime between 1990-2002, but probably constructed around 2002 as that is when the Spanish Lookout Administrative Building (SLAB) was constructed on that road.
In 2008 the road was paved with chip seal from Road 23 up to the entrance to the Schoental Church. In 2025 the road was paved up to the Golden Age Homes entrance.
This street was named Route 28 B in 2001 and then renamed to 287 Street East in 2020.
