The August Pine Ridge-Orange Walk Road was cleared in 1949.[1]
10.5 kms of paved roadway between San Lázaro and August Pine Ridge were officially opened on January 19, 2015 by the head of the EU Delegation to Belize, Ambassador Paola Amadei and officials of the Ministry of Works.[2] This section was completed under Phase III of the Road Rehabilitation Project at a cost of $4.4 million.
