The August Pine Ridge-Orange Walk Road was cleared in 1949.[1]
10.5 kms of paved roadway between Settlement 243 and Settlement 9 were officially opened on January 19, 2015 by the head of the EU Delegation to Belize, Ambassador Paola Amadei and officials of the Ministry of Works.[2] This section was completed under Phase III of the Road Rehabilitation Project at a cost of $4.4 million.
