The area around Gracie Rock was used by Maroons who escaped enslavement and setup autonomous communities up in the "Blue Mountains".[1]
A prison farm was opened on 7th October, 1949 in Gracie Rock, for first offenders and young offenders.[2]
A small hurricane shelter was constructed in 1963. [3]
Gracy Rock was named after Grace Felix who used to own a lot of land in that area.[4]
