Guinea Grass was a Mahogany woodcutter stand in 1827 already.[1]
The Catholic School had 50 students in 1927 and 54 in 1928.[2][3]
From at least 1897[4] to at least 1947[5] Guinea Grass was a mission of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Settlement 186[6][3], and in 2026 its Divine Mercy church was a mission of La Inmaculada parish in Settlement 186.[7]
The El Shaddai Church is under the North Belize Mission Conference (Settlement 64) in the Belize Union Mission (Settlement 12) of the Inter-American Division (Miami, Florida) of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In 2025 they had 100 members.[8]
