The Government Industrial School for Boys was opened in Pomona in March 1927. The school consisted of 650 acres of land, of which 87 acres was being cultivated by 1931. And then in 1929 a dairy school was established. During 1930 1,650 grapefruit trees were distributed throughout the colony.[1]
