From at least 1925[2] to 1927[1] San Jose had a catholic mission under the Church of the Immaculate Conception, from Settlement 186.

Seventh Day Adventist Church

The San Jose Church is under the North Belize Mission Conference (Settlement 64) in the Belize Union Mission (Settlement 12) of the Inter-American Division (Miami, Florida) of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In 2025 they had 52 members.[3]
