A new police station was constructed between 1959 to 1961.[1]
The village and the river used to be known as Rio Blanco (1941)[2] and was later renamed to Blue Creek.
From at least 1940[3] to at least 1941[4] Rio Blanco was a mission of St. Peter Claver's Church in Settlement 202.
