In the 1950s Santa Familia was just a collection of logging trails going in all directions[1], but by 1980 it was a village.[2]
The Santa Familia Roman Catholic School was established in 1950.[3]
The government established a police station in Santa Familia but didn't provide the necessary equipment. So the village council reached out asking for donations, in response the Spanish Lookout Community donated a refrigerator, washing machine, stove, and a file cabinet.[4]
