In 1945 Santa Familia did not exist yet, but by 1965 Settlement 642 existed where the eastern, old part of Santa Familia is today. By 1973 the name Santa Familia showed up on maps between Carmelita and Settlement 31.
In the 1950s Santa Familia was just a collection of logging trails going in all directions[1], but by 1973 it was a village.[2]
Settlement 31's population was included in Santa Familia's 2022 census count.
The Santa Familia Roman Catholic School was established in 1950.[3] At the same time the government changed the name in their documents from Carmelita to Santa Familia.[4]
The government established a police station in Santa Familia but didn't provide the necessary equipment. So the village council reached out asking for donations, in response the Settlement 295 Community donated a refrigerator, washing machine, stove, and a file cabinet.[5]
