In 2007 it was planned to construct a power line to Santa Teresita, but there were difficulties routing the line around Spanish Lookout.
Then in 2017 as part of Belize Electricity Ltd's System Expansion Program, Santa Teresita finally received electricity for the first time. This power line was constructed to internationally approved National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards. [1]
