A small hurricane shelter was constructed in 1963.[1]
On July 15, 1960 Hurricane Abbey destroyed all the crops at Sittee River and nearby communities.[2]
In 1949 the police force consisted of 1 officer.[3]
From at least 1917[4] to 1925, Sittee River had a catholic mission under the Church of the Sacred Heart, from Stann Creek Town.[5]
