Yalbac existed in the 1948 DOS map and the Yalbac Trigonometrical Station was nearby. In the 1980 DOS map Yalbac is known as Yalbac Camp.
Oil was discovered in 2005, the oil reservoir covered an area of approximately 438,000 acres of land, spanning parts of Benque Viejo del Carmen Town, Yalbac, Spanish Lookout, Belmopan City, and even Burrell Boom. [1]
From at least 1925 to 1928 Yalbac had a catholic mission under the Church of the Sacred Heart, from El Cayo Town .[2]
