Steinberg District was created in 2017 from all 'bajo' low land between Settlement 361 and Settlement 365. It is currently the largest district by land area.
The Spanish Lookout Community needed a new caliche pit for quality road material, and at the community meeting of May 30, 2026 members decided to buy 34 acres in Steinberg for it.[1]
In 2025 construction started on a new Kleine Gemeinde church in Steinberg. This was the first church of any denomination in the district.
