In 1860 Douglas was the name of an estate that reached from the Waterway 347 to the Waterway 206.[1]
In 1948 the Police substation was reconstructed.[2]
In 1949 the police force consisted of 1 officer.[2]
From at least 1917[3] to 1925 Douglas had a catholic mission under the Church of the Immaculate Conception, from Settlement 260.[4]
The Douglas SDA Church is under the North Belize Mission Conference (Settlement 64) in the Belize Union Mission (Settlement 12) of the Inter-American Division (Miami, Florida) of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In 2025 they had 46 members.[5]
