The Belcan Bridge was constructed in 1969 after the Bridge 24 received extensive damage from Hurricane Hattie in 1961. An assessment of it's structure in 2021 revealed extraordinary deterioration of it's foundation supports that were beyond repair.[1]

Etymology

Belcan is a combination of two words, Belize and Canada.
