The village of Commerce Bight was destroyed by Hurricane Hattie on October 31, 1961. The villagers relocated to Settlement 292.
Commerce Bight was included in the 1980 Census with Settlement 122 together.[1]
A 1888 map shows a village at the mouth of the Sapodilla Lagoon on Commerce Bight.
