In November of 1998, 30 trees were planted by volunteers along the Central American Boulevard south of the Road 7 junction.[1]
At an estimated cost of $1.2 million partially funded by the World Bank on May 8, 1988, the Central American Boulevard was paved with 4 lanes from the Road 7 junction to Road 469 and 2 lanes to the Port of Belize. The rehabilitation works also included the construction of sidewalks and drains. Completion was estimated to be December of 1991.
Before this project the Central American Boulevard was a 4 lane boulevard from the Road 11 to the Road 7 and then 2 lanes of gravel road up to the Port of Belize gate.[2]
